Evan is a pro. Also, very responsive, creative, assertive, patient, attentive to details. In short, a superb representative to have the services of in a real estate transaction.
Evan is intelligent, caring, and an all around pleasure to work with. As stressful as a home transaction can be, his calm and patient and thoughtful demeanor is exactly what you want to be around at that time. I would not hesitate to recommend Evan's service to my friends and family.
Our experience with Evan Duby was professional, courteous and successful.I don't think you'll meet another realtor with the same commitment and honesty as Mr Duby. I would highly recommend this guy if you are looking to buy in Park Slope as he has a very extensive working knowledge and he is also very personable.
I have nothing but praise for Evan and how he handled our rental. He was professional, supportive and resourceful. He prepared a wonderful listing with many beautiful photographs to advertise the property. He really seemed to have our best interests in mind and I will definitely turn to him again for future real estate transactions.
Evan recently helped me purchase an apartment in Brookyn. He was fantastic and coached me through every step of the process. He understands the real estate market as well as the ins and outs of the business. I also appreciated his straightforward communication style and came to rely on his opinion as much as his industry expertise. I look forward to working with Evan again in the future.
Evan helped us sell our coop apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn. He helped guide us through the process and made it easier. He always went the extra mile and we developed a real relationship of trust. Despite some hitches and stalling points Evan always helped find a solution and we were very happy with the outcome of our sale. We would not hesitate to recommend Evan, especially if you are selling in Brooklyn.
Evan assisted us in acquiring a $1.3 million 2-family rental property in the Clinton Hill area in Brooklyn, NY. We found him very knowledgeable and communicative. Moreover, he comes across as trustworthy which we believe is an important attribute of a real estate agent. Never pushy, he has his clients' interest in mind. In short, we found it was a pleasure working with Evan. Note that we had prior experience working with other real estate agents.
I was going to go with the neighborhood RE folks but upon the recommendation of my hair stylist I gave Evan a call. Urban Compass understands branding and sometimes you want more than just a flyer in the window. It's NY, it's that extra effort that gets you where you want to be. Evan gets that. Polished and down to earth Evan was a pleasure to work with. Insanely responsive to my texts & emails. Even our cat cooperated with Evan. We moved out of the city otherwise I would hire Evan again.
Evan helped my wife and I purchase a home in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn in November 2016. I strongly recommend him if looking to purchase or sell a home. I've worked with several brokers in the past, and he's far superior. Evan's knowledge of the neighborhood, his experience in competitive situations and his steady hand throughout the process were truly exceptional. Without Evan in our corner, I strongly believe my wife and I wouldn't have prevailed in this multiple-bid situation. Evan was incredibly responsive throughout and provided remarkable guidance. Evan also introduced us to a mortgage professional, inspector and RE lawyer that were fantastic. With Evan, you get a full-range of services that are second to none.
Evan is truly outstanding. He walked me through the entire process of purchasing as a first time buyer navigating the insanity of New York City real estate. Evan helped set my expectations from the start, allowing me to anticipate bumps along the road. He was by my side every step of the way, answering my countless questions and providing answers to questions I hadn't even thought to ask. He connected me with all the other necessary people I needed to help get me through the closing, and even after the process was over, continued to check in to see how things were going in my new place. Evan goes above and beyond, placing his relationships with clients first. I consider myself very lucky to have had Evan Duby as my agent. I doubt there are many like him
When we met Evan, it was a final attempt at buying a place in the city before heading to the suburbs. We had lost all hope after a year of looking and he was able to reignite our motivation and give us renewed confidence that we could find a place in Brooklyn. From the start, he knew our budget was limited and at every step of the way from the moment we met him until now, months after closing on our first home in Ridgewood/Bushwick, he has treated us like we were multimillionaire clients. He helped us pinpoint exactly what we were looking for and when we found it, he did everything he could to be sure we got what we wanted even on a small commission. His network of mortgage brokers, lawyers and other professionals are second to none and his ease of communication immediate. Made us as first time home buyers, feel completely looked after. I think of Evan as a real estate therapist only somewhat jokingly! which is exactly what you need when buying or selling a home in New York City someone to coach you and support you through the process. You will be in the best hands with Evan. Can't recommend him enough.
Evan is the absolute best. My husband and I recently worked with Evan to purchase a place in Park Slope but Evan also showed us apartments in Prospect Heights, South Slope and Boerum Hill. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all of these neighborhoods, extremely responsive which turned out to be key given how quickly this process moves and is also just an awesome, sociable guy to grab a beer in the neighborhood with. As first time home-owners, it was great to have Evan walk us through every step of the process, everything from what things to look for during our first open house to prepping for the co-op interview. Evan also has a wide network of trusted vendors and other service providers so he was always ready with a rec when we requested one which was super helpful for my husband and I since we are new transplants to Brooklyn so we needed referrals for not only local lawyers, mortgage lenders, etc but also for painters, dog walkers, you name it. Evan really made this process a breeze for us and we could not have been happier to have worked with him. We'd absolutely recommend Evan to anyone looking for a seasoned, honest and motivated agent.
Evan Duby is the broker you hoped was out there but was afraid didn't exist. Real estate is an intimidating world when you don't know much about it, and Evan is the guy who can walk you though the purchase the home that is right for you. I am quite certain that we would have given up had we not met Evan. His humanistic approach to helping his clients purchase a home is exactly what we needed, what I think most people need. His knowledge of the market, what is out there, what has been out there, and what will probably be helps you place yourself in a tangible way in a process that seems daunting. He is patient, always listening to your needs so he can better serve your vision. His work and life experience has brought him to a place and a profession where all his skills in finance and the music industry converge to make him incredibly confident in his knowledge but also able to communicate in an emphatic way. He really was our shepherd through this whole process and now we are settled in a home that is perfect for us. He continues to be an ally even after closing, recommending other professionals who can help us continue creating our ideal home from plumbers to roofers, contractors, and carpet companies. This process is not always kind, and you need someone who can be a friend. Evan is that guy. What more can we say? He's the best. He raises the bar for all the other brokers out there to do business the way he does.
Evan is the absolute best. My husband and I recently worked with Evan to purchase a co-op apartment in Park Slope but Evan also showed us places in Prospect Heights, South Slope and Boerum Hill. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all of these neighborhoods, extremely responsive and experienced which turned out to be critical given how quickly this process moves and is also just an awesome, sociable guy to grab a beer with between or after open houses. Evan's passion about the neighborhoods he works and lives in is nothing short of infectious the fact that someone can live in the area for so long and still be so excited about it definitely got us pumped as well. As first time homeowners, it was great to have Evan walk us through every step of an otherwise complicated process, everything from things to look for during our first open house to prepping for the co-op interview. Evan also has a wide network of trusted vendors and other service-providers so he was always ready with a recommendation when we requested one. This was particularly helpful since my husband and I are both new transplants to Brooklyn and therefore needed referrals for not only lawyers, mortgage lenders and inspectors, but also for painters, dog walkers you name it. Evan really made this process a breeze for us and we could not have been happier to have worked with him. It took less than two months from open house to closing and there's no way we could've gotten it done so quickly and obstacle-free without Evan's expertise and helpful guidance at each step. We'd absolutely recommend Evan to anyone looking for a seasoned, honest and motivated agent.
I cannot say enough great things about Evan. He did an awesome job helping my wife and I purchase a home in Park Slope in summer 2016 and continued to be a terrific resource well after closing and our move, assisting with everything from connecting us with a dog walker, contractor, plummer and cleaning person. Evan vets all of his referred vendors closely and having him as a friend and neighbor has really been great. In fact, we were so happy with how everything went with the first deal that we immediately went to Evan again when my wife's parents decided to sell their existing apartment in NJ and purchase an apartment in Park Slope in fall/winter 2016. Evan not only helped us screen and connect with a great NJ-licensed broker for the sale and provided a sounding board whenever we needed, he also made sure every step of the ensuing purchase process went smoothly, including winning a very competitive bidding war and getting all the paperwork teed up. Evan's thorough knowledge of the market, organization and attention to detail are all noteworthy. He always knows the right questions to ask and is not shy about rolling up his sleeves to climb around a dusty boiler room or hoisting himself onto a rooftop to personally inspect and examine. My in-laws were both super impressed by Evan's combination of confidence and competence, and have also started referring to Evan and his crew as "the A Team." We're all looking forward to trying out Evan's new home concierge service in the spring. I would recommend Evan with absolutely zero hesitation.
The point of a good broker is not just to help you weed through the listings and identify potential homes. It's to be an ally through every stage of the process, from the search all the way through closing, and Evan epitomized that role for us when he helped my wife and I buy our first home. I entered into the enterprise with no experience and very little knowledge of how the process works, but Evan quickly educated me in every stage, from searching to strategy to financing and beyond. He is a master at breaking down a process which can easily turn convoluted into a clear and easy set of sequential stages, and identified the priorities and strategy for each. When we found our home, he knew the seller's broker and had worked with him, which helped us in negotiation. Throughout the process, Evan was able to bring his wide network to bear whenever we needed or asked for it. In our case, he was able to connect us to a home inspector, attorney, and mortgage brokers, who were all excellent. And when we were thrown the inevitable curve ball or two throughout the experience, Evan doubled as a psychologist. In many ways, we were spared much of the heartache and headache that I understand is germane to the home-buying process in Brooklyn, but I also understand that very few deals in this town are entirely straightforward, and I can't say enough about how Evan's level-headed and thoughtful approach helped guide me through what can often be a nerve-wracking experience. Aside from his impressive knowledge and experience of homes, history, and the market in the area, his interests and expertise are broad and far-flung, and it is an added bonus to have a broker that is as interested and interesting as Evan. If there were another category on Zillow for all round great guy, I'd give another five stars.
When working with buyers, Evan helps his clients separate signal from noise in highly competitive markets. He believes the process of buying is best viewed as a study in efficiency and self-confidence. Well versed in emergent digital technologies and platforms, Evan leverages leading edge tools to ensure his clients are able to act with great vigor upon finding their ideal property.
